my friend's parents are divorced and she currently lives with her abusive mom. she is thinking of running away but she doesn't have a place to temporarily stay at. her dad doesn't have legal custody and she can't stay at my place because her mom is going to find out. what should i do, any advice?

I left my house at 17 years old but I planned it very carefully. It was very difficult to find a place that would allow me to rent. All my money went to school and bills. My sister helped me open up a credit card but without her help I would have really been lost. If she can house hop with friends until she gets back on her feet that would be ideal. Consider that if she is a runaway your parents or anyone housing her can get into serious trouble. If her mother is really abusive, I would ultimately recommend she contact the authorities.
She can call the child protection progam and she can get foster parents
